Pitching a Media Product Idea to an Audience :christmas advertisment

Pitching a Media Product Idea to an Audience: Christmas Advertisement

Every advertisement becomes a reality due to a pitch presentation. In order to get the green light, the creator needs to consider the genre, the synopsis, target audience, cast and crew initial presentation. For this assignment you will create a pitch for a Christmas charity or shop, duration should be 10-15 mins, You will provide feedback to your peers and their pitch.

1. Be able to pitch an idea for a media product to an audience

2  - be able to produce a written/illustrated document to accompany a pitch

2.1  Create an appropriate ‘Leave Behind’ document that supports the idea

The copy of my pitch is in my folder – the power point is showing on my blog – click 'media pitch ' (above) and you will be taken to the powerpoint..

3 - be able to critique a media product and pitch

3.1 Give critical and supportive feedback to a peer’s idea and pitch

Daniel made his presentation on a turkey, it really caught my eye the fact that the development of the plot and story, it could have been improved if the pace and the set up was a bit slower and clearer. Daniel's storyline was about two siblings departing and being in different countries and as it comes to Christmas they come together to eat the turkey, I was able to visualise the ad his character are family cause it fits in the Xmas theme, and Daniel uses primary or secondary research to back up his claim.

Deacons presentation was fairly well made for joining late, his product/company is amazon prime and giving the ability to deliver in hours. I would have liked to see more slides as there weren't many, describing the ad was done very well.

Ofesnte's presentation was a charity and for the homeless, I would like to see more development on the storyboard and was a little confused by the pace of the pitch, but overall the imagery caught my eye and everything was great, it was visually appealing and the secondary research.

Layton started late as well but he got a good amount of and he used secondary research and I found it visually appealing but could have been developed a bit more on the storyline, Anthony Joshua went out and gave everyone free cokes its the festive season

4 - be able to reflect on your own idea and pitch performance

4.1 Self-critique own idea and pitch performance

Our task was to make a pitch based on a product or charity for Christmas, we looked at Christmas ads and had a choice of making what, I chose presents bringing the family together. I was influenced by seeing a friend of mine received a gift of his mother, I think these type of ads aren't shown much and should be shown more, the message I sent out as that there nothing better than family, the brief has been completed I have completed all the work needed, compared to the original intentions I believed I have to succeed. I most proud of my storyline and board, I was most disappointed of the order of two slides as they were reversed so in the future products I will always double check my work, I would change around the slides, I would give my pitch an 8 out of 10 and my evidence has been uploaded to my blog
