TEAMWORK SKILLS - ZOMBIE FILM

1. BE ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE SETTING OF THE TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL GOALS

1.1. Identify the team’s goals
Our team goal is to make a zombie horror film, that is around 7 minutes long that would be shot locally and all the production team must have a role

1.2. Describe the process involved in planning and deciding the team’s goals: We all pitched ideas in groups of 3 then came together and everyone gave their pitch ideas and we had a class vote, when we decided the winners was James Potts 'Fear and Decay', then we held a production role and decided which student would have which production role.

2. UNDERSTAND OWN AND OTHERS’ RESPONSIBILITIES IN ACHIEVING THE TEAMS GOALS

2.1. Organize own activities effectively within the agreed goals of the team

My role is editor and camera assistant.

I will be working across the next 5 weeks - making sure I hit key deadlines on all my work

2.2. Provide information detailing own and other team members’ responsibilities

Director - Deacon and Matthew: Rehearsing with actors, holding a read through, both directors liaise with camera operators, be available for both locations, be available to discuss costumes with Ofenste liaise with Josh regarding and with Jamie to discuss storyboard.

Camera Operator - James: Source locations, Health and Safety considerations, Ensure permissions have granted

Editor - Karim, and Daniel : (In post Production) liaise with Matthew and Deacon, Discussing

Technical Assistant - Josh: To ensure equipment is booked or sourced, batteries are charged and props if borrowed then ensure they are returned.

3.              BE ABLE TO PLAN AND UNDERTAKE TEAM ACTIVITIES
3.1           Plan activities that enable the team to reach its goals

26th April - We had team production meeting, we discussed makeup ideas, prop search story ideas and the storyboard for the opening sequence, Deacon was absent

1st May - Team production meeting, we worked in small groups as we developed the rest of the the story line we presented ideas and pull the story together, Josh tried surbet as a prop, Jamie made a storyboard, Matthew and Deacon contacted the cast and the cast was confirmed.

3rd May - What have I done today walked around location scouting and took pictures of college and Barnes park, these pictures go on to our storyboard and help us plan out our film after we got back to college the Screenplay, Storyboard, Location, costume and make up had been secured Health and Safety, Plan B and permission to film had been completed

8th May - Disappointing start one of the teams missing today, therefore, we didn't have a script, Actors arrived so we had to think on our feet to make the afternoon productive, then we had some practice filming and talked to the actors and planned what will to next week.

10th May - IN PRODUCTION

15th May - We went out to Barnes park and filmed all of the outside scenes, one of our actors didn't turn up but we had a replacement, all of the footage and angles were checked and is ready for editing.

17th May  - We went out to Barnes Park and film a couple more outside scenes that we didn't film on Wednesday, as we completed that we started to film the second part of the film which was on the college campus, although we didn't have much time it turned out well and we got a few good shots leaving not much left to be filmed.

22nd May - On this day it started off in a bit of confusion as one of our actors could no longer take part in our film and lucky we had a replacement, we started filming in Barnes Park again and got a few more angles, then we went to the college campus and filmed what we didn't on Wednesday

24th May - This is where we finished off our film, we filmed the last scenes to wrap it up, its has taken us about 4 weeks to shot the whole film and has turned out very good.

5th June - We looked at our film and rated it, we also talk about how we could improve, overall we are proud of the outcome

3.2           Identify own responsibilities towards the team in relation to the plan
(In post Production) liaise with Matthew and Deacon,  we are discussing on how to up the scene at the right time.

3.3           Carry out own responsibilities,
my responsibility was film assistant meaning I were to help the cameraman with the shots as I would later fix them up in editing with day

3.4           Contribute to the successful completion of the team activities
I believe my contribution was pretty successful we hit all or deadlines -

4.              BE ABLE TO REVIEW THE TEAM ACTIVITIES

4.1.         Feedback on own actions in relation to the overall team activities, Overall our film turned out good, it was well made and although there was a bit of misconfusion at the start i believe that it turned out well. My final production was exactly how i wanted it to turn out, when writing it up i made sure to type up everything i wanted to cover, i think it turned out great. My pre-production was pretty successful, i researched about the horror genre and even watch a few zombie films, it made it easier on what i wanted explain as the class could relate, although mine wasn't chosen i think my storyline slightly made its way into the film, my time management was great, i got the pitch done in amount of time we were given and presented it well, from this activity i've learnt that it takes time and effort to make a good itch and its easy to express ideas through a presentation ,i think most things went well and i'm happy with the way it turned out, to improve next time i can expand more when explaining and give facts as well as setting out my PowerPoint so when i can play videos easily. My pre-production was successful, i done everything i needed to do planning the camera angles and how scenes would turnout wasn't the easiest but we done a good job, although there was a few issues with people being absent, i think we don’t a great job on competing in time, we worked together to solve issues and get past obstacles but overall Time was managed but not without it's problems. It took a while to get started because the directors were discussing different locales but once they agreed it went quite quickly, bar a few intrusions. I have learnt a lot from this project, that it takes time to get a film done through pre-production and post production, and i will take that on board for my next project, I think my role went well and was quite easy and next time things i would like to improve would be helping all the people with their roles when I’m done and overall taking part in all the roles.
